With reference to your despatch No.85 of 4th
Gov19225/20 April, 1927, I have the honour to inform you that I am
forwarding under separate cover fifteen copies each of the Reports of the Medical and Sanitary Departments for the þyle year 1926 for the use of the Colonial Advisory Hedical and
Sanitary Committee.

It is hoped that these Reports read in conjunction will be found to give an adequate review of the medical affairs of the Colony during the year. A sketch-mep
of the Colony has been inserted in each report.
3.
I would however invite attention to the
25491/27mvernor's despatch No.129 of 16th March, 1927, on the
subject of the control of malaria in which he pointed out
that the circumstances of this Colony, situated on the sea
coast of a large Chinese province, were so exceptional that
vital statistics in respect of the Chinese population were
unreliable if not misleading.
In addition the European population of the Colony is attended largely by general practitioners so that
it is impossible to give in the Reports complete information
on the health of the European con unity.

LIEUTENANT COLONEL L.C..S. ARY, P.,
